Erik Ordal, CPA
Born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Erik attended college at the Carlson School of Management in Minneapolis. Upon graduating with a B.A. in Accounting as well as a Master’s of Accountancy in 2014, he spent four years in public accounting, serving as the in-charge on assurance engagements. He worked on public and private engagements in a variety of industries with a focus on private equity, manufacturing, medical device, and benefit plans. He switched careers in 2018 to pursue a passion for financial planning, joining an independent RIA firm in Minnetonka. In this role, he served in the advisory group, providing holistic wealth management services to ultra-affluent families.
In February of 2020, Erik joined MKS to build out the firm’s personal and business consulting practice. He is currently pursuing the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) credential through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), which is only available to active CPAs with requisite knowledge and expertise in personal financial planning.
After marrying his wife Allie in 2019, he now calls Plymouth home and enjoys golfing, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling Dakota, their two-year-old Golden Retriever.
